Getting started couldn’t be easier. BT University does not require entrance exams, standardized tests or admissions interviews for admission to theSchool of Professional Studies

You canchoose from a variety of programs, everything fromBusiness, Cyber Security and Digital Marketing toElementary Education,Criminal Justiceand RN to BSN Nursing degrees. You can study on-line, here on campus, part-time, or full-time—whatever works for your lifestyle. Terms are offered every 8 weeks so that it is possible for you to complete your degree, in most cases, in little as 20 months.

We want to help make coming to campus as convenient as studying from the comfort of home. We have FREE Parking, great dining options open for our evening students, and student success services designed to assist you in-person or online. Plus, on-line access to library information services, and academic planning advising that can be completed from your home.

Application requirements

Admission to BT University is based upon a student’s demonstrated academic performance, academic preparation, and potential for success in college-level study. Each application is reviewed on an individual basis. Applicants seeking admission to the School of Professional Studies must have a high school or GED diploma. Applicants must meet all of the requirements of the degree or programs in which they are seeking admission.

A provisional admission decision can be made based on unofficial copies of transcripts. However, official versions must be received in order to be fully admitted to the program.

Students who have attended two-year or four-year colleges or universities apply as transfer students. The University will evaluate transfer credit based on transcripts submitted by the student. BT University maintains a very generous transfer credit policy.

Bridge Option – Bridge to MSN

The Bridge Option was designed for RNs who have a bachelor’s degree in any other discipline who wish to bridge to the MSN program.

Applicants must satisfy by transfer or credit the following courses:

  1. Statistics for the Social Sciences
  2. Health Assessment
  3. Introduction to Nursing Research
  4. Community Nursing
  5. Leadership and Management in Nursing

Upon satisfactory completion of these courses, students transition into the MSN program. Please note that students are not awarded a BSN at the completion of the Bridge Option. For applicant’s concerns regarding an employer’s request for a BSN degree, enrollment in the Bridge Option meets the ANCC Magnet requirement for an advanced degree.

Students with learning disabilities may be admitted to BTUniversity provided they meet the University’s standard requirements for admission. BTUniversity does not offer a comprehensive program for students with learning disabilities. However, accommodations will be made whenever possible.

International students (requiring an F-1 student visa) are encouraged to apply to the full-time day session due to the enrollment requirements of the F-1 visa. Please see theinternational admission website.

All veterans who were students in good standing at BTUniversity before entering the service will be readmitted if they apply in due time before registration. Veterans who have not previously attended any institution of collegiate rank should follow the admission procedures for new students. Veterans who have attended another institution and wish to transfer to the University should follow the admission procedures for transfer students.

Credit for formal service courses and schools, when granted, is based on the recommendations described in A Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience Gained in the Armed Services, published by the American Council on Education. Credit also is granted for college courses sponsored by the University of Maryland and made available to service members.

Veterans who are eligible to receive tuition benefits from the Veterans Administration should file the necessary forms.

PAYING FOR RETURNING TO COLLEGE

Students of the School of Professional Studies may work with a financial aid counselor to determine actual program expenses and financial aid opportunities. Many of the University’s adult undergraduate students benefit from tuition discount programs and flexible payment options.

  • Employer-based tuition discounts are available for full-time Catholic school teachers (50% discount), Horizon and NJ Transit employees (50% discount), Pershing employees (10% discount), as well as others.
  • The Yellow Ribbon Program enables veterans who qualify to attend at little or no cost.
  • Students who are eligible for their employer’s tuition reimbursement program may apply for a company deferment plan.
  • The U.S. Department of Education provides need-based funding through the Pell Grant Program.
  • Monthly payment plans are available for those who qualify.
